Yungaburra, on the Atherton Tablelands, takes its name from the Yidinyji language, meaning 'a place of enquiring or questioning'. European settlement of Yungaburra dates back to the early 1880s, and Yungaburra has the highest proportion of heritage listed buildings outside of regional centres in Queensland.
